Avery Lehr, Partner | Attorney

Ms. Lehr zealously represents her clients in all stages in criminal proceedings. Ms. Lehr began her legal career as a Deputy Public Defender in Colorado Springs and a Senior Deputy Public Defender at the Denver Trial Office. While practicing as a Pubic Defender, she gained excellent trial skills. She handled hundreds of misdemeanors and felonies. She is a skilled and compassionate attorney that prepares extensively to compile mitigation and negotiate with the District Attorneys to achieve the best possible result. However, if the case is not dismissed or does not resolve in a manner favorable to her client, she is is a fierce advocate at trial. She has tried over thirty-five jury trials, with many successes. She has represented clients in trials ranging from traffic offenses, DUIs, to homicide. Her zealously advocacy has resulted in many not guilty verdicts, verdicts on lesser charges, and cases overturned on appeal.

Ms. Lehr also has experience in civil practice, representing small businesses and individuals in personal injury, construction defect, and transportation matters.

Now, in private practice, Ms. Lehr continues to represent clients charged with serious felonies, misdemeanor, juvenile offenses, municipal offenses, 35(c) matters, and appeals. She collaborates with investigators and social workers to provide her clients with a holistic defense. Ms. Lehr also practices in family law. She represents parents or caregivers, in Dependency and Neglect Matters. Ms. Lehr passionately represents parents throughout these court proceedings and helps them navigate the stressful process of trying to preserve their parenting rights.

Ms. Lehr received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law, where she argued before the Massachusetts Appeals Court as a law student. She was actively involved with the Criminal Law Clinic and Moot Court, where she was on the National Moot Court Team and awarded Best Oralist. She received her B.A. from University of Miami for her undergraduate degree.

Ms. Lehr is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and Denver Bar Association.
